Forster’s Tern –
Forster’s are infrequently encountered on the Vineyard, usually in the fall and sometimes rather later than other tern species. This diving adult was photographed at Thompson’s Beach along the New Jersey shore of Delaware Bay. They breed locally there, up in the estuarine marshlands. They are quite white, similar to a Roseate Tern, and streamer-tailed in breeding finery.
This moment is totally tern.
