Photographs

My artistic efforts are focused on producing a series of fine art prints from my photographs of birds taken here on the Vineyard or on travels in the US and elsewhere.  I refer to them as "Avian Art".

All photographs are printed with the finest archival inks (Epson K3) on the finest thick paper stock (from Epson or Breathing Color), either in-house or at Bob Korn Imaging for the larger pieces.  All framing is also high quality, using archival materials.

Paintings

My paintings are works in acrylic on canvas or board, featuring a variety of styles depicting fantasy landscapes, literal Island scenes, abstract compositions and portraits of ocean waves.  My newest series - shown in the category "Recent Paintings" - began in October of 2011 and continues today.  Various themes are represented on a background of squares within squares within a square, typically 36" X 36".

I am happy to talk about commissioned pieces.

My paintings have been shown at three Vineyard galleries:  at  Dragonfly Gallery in Oak Bluffs, Louisa Gould Gallery in Vineyard Haven and at Featherstone Center for the Arts outside of Oak Bluffs.  My avian art photographs have been shown there as well and at Simon Gallery in Vineyard Haven and at The Christina Gallery in Edgartown.

Please note that some of the images of the paintings that appear at this site have been cropped slightly.  Most are hung and sold with frames which may not show in the Artwork section.  The prices listed for paintings include simple professional or in-house framing when there is a frame.  Custom gold metal leaf frames, where appropriate, usually cost up to $300. more, depending on size and style.

Note also that the actual colors of a painting may vary a bit from what you see on your computer screen.
